Youth Emergency Services (YES) Program

This program will develop summer jobs for youth ages 15-17 years old. If they are from low-income families and doing well in school, if they are on TANF or SNAP, they will be accepted. Children of veterans have first priority; they must provide proof. All who apply for the program will be drug tested with parental consent for free. If the child is found to be a drug or alcohol abuser, the parent will be notified and intervention steps will be taken. The youth initiative program we will propose by Texas Legislation for the youth age 14 years old who can do On-The-Job (OJT) training will be paid minimum wage. While performing OJT, they will be allowed to work no more than 20 hours per week, dependent upon satisfactory school work.
