Sergeant Valamas A. Jones was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He joined the Army in May 1994 and attended both Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During his career, Sergeant Valamas Jones served as Fire Support Specialist, Section Leader, and Heavy Equipment operator, He participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Jones has been assigned to the following units :3/7 Field Artillery, 141 F.A., and 342 Engineering Company.Sergeant Valamas Jones military and civilian education include U.S. Army Air Assault School, Warrior Leadership Development Courses, Small Arms gunners courses , Army combat life saver course, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of New Orleans and a Maters of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University. Sergeant Valamas Jones has been rewarded with Combat Action Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal and the Iraqi Campaing Medal. Sergeant Valamas Jones recently extended his services contract to enough years to retire from a career in the military.
